Bukit Tabur

Here are some the pictures captured during weekend outdoor shoot in Bukit Tabur, Melawati 2 weeks back with Kichi, Boney, Ciput, Nad & Iskandar…

Woke up at 5:15am Saturday morning, meet up at 6:00am at Taman Melawati mamak shop, start hiking around 6:40am…. Reached a pretty decent spot for sunrise shoot around 7:05am…

CNY Langkawi Trip

I, Athen, Ajis & Apek went to Langkawi during the CNY break… Initial plan was to dive Pulau Payar but basically to have fun in Langkawi…

Apek took his diving license with East Marine (Dive operator). Congrats to Apek…

I was down with food poisoning on CNY eve… and couldn’t continue diving the next day. Was on bed for the whole of Sunday…. #@%$... Somehow, managed to dive the day after… OK la, better than nothing… Neway, these are some of the pictures from the trip…

i think i know what's lacking: post processing! bab ni pun kena rajin jugak, dude. you don't actually need to make many changes to significantly stylize your shot. just saturate the colors a bit, add a bit more contrast, and you're good to go (most times la). anyways, try experimenting with different angles too. for example, blind shots from the ground can work well, and open up interesting perspectives. dude, i think the pictures have potential. try playing around with contrast and curves a bit to get that extra bit of punch. i think the first picture will benefit a lot from that, seeing it's got an interesting effect going on. for starters, try this out with the curves function in photoshop(image > adjustment > curves): in the RGB channel, shape the line so that it looks like a gentle S-curve. what this does is increase the saturation and contrast (for the midtones, if i'm not mistaken, but you'll be able to see the effect immediately). there are also the individual red, green and blue channels that you can manipulate. have fun!
